Dear friends,
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." I Peter 1:3-5
Well the old adage is true, "The older we get, the faster time flies!" It seems like yesterday when we sent out our March Prayer letter. We had hoped to send out one earlier than this but. ..... well praise the Lord for His goodness. We have had many blessed and exciting things happen over the past months. There won't be enough room to share them all, so here are some highlights. While we were at our home Church in Galesburg, IL we visited the local Walmart. As we were leaving the building a man hollered out "Cowboy Preacher?" and I answered "Yes." He said' "I've been looking for you! I saw your truck." God opened the door to visit with Ted for 30-40 minutes about the Lord. He shared he was saved and needed to grow in the Lord. He didn't show up for Church on Sunday, but I am thankful for the opportunity God gave me to share the word with him that day.
In May we were honored to be in Cheyenne, WY preaching a Revival Meeting. One evening as the invitation began, an older lady gripped the back of the pew and struggled to stand. She traded the pew for her walker and rolled to the front of the church. She wanted to know she was going to Heaven because death was an ever present shadow. It was not the first time she had walked a church aisle. At the age of 13, she and her mama had come hand in hand to ask the Lord to be their Savior. BUT ... that had been so many years ago. Was it still good enough to step through the pearly gates? The pastor's wife took her and explained the beautiful words of the Savior: eternal, forever, eternity!
We had a surprise visit from a mountain lio (twice) outside of Hillsdale, WY (see blurry picture below) while we were outside drinking coffee. It was about 80 yards away the first time and 120 yards the second tune. I definitely carried my sidearm from then on. We also had a 9 year desire of Sandy's fulfilled this year. She has wanted to see a bear (not caged or penned in any area) as we traveled across this great country. That desire was fulfilled this week south of Republic, WA! Two times! Once traveling to Republic (see picture below) and once traveling from Republic (no picture).
We had the privilege to be a part of the Settler's Days celebration in Ferndale, WA with Faith Baptist Church and pastor Byron Sanders. The Church booth and our booth was next to each other (see picture below). We survived the hot temperatures and visited with many, many people (including a few strange ones). God blessed that Sunday with 11 first time visitors including the Mayor of Pioneer Village (location of Settler's Days)!
God has blessed us with great meetings and wonderful responses to God's word. We thank you for your continued prayers for us and our ministry. God continues to bless with our Truck running down the road. We are still waiting for God's direction to replace it. We are excited about the blessings awaiting us the rest of this year.
His servants,
Greg & Sandy Waggoner
Thank you for your prayers!
