ROOFTOP EXPERIENCE

"IF! YOU! KIDS! DON'T! STOP! I! AM! GOING! TO! GO! THROUGH! THE! ROOF!"

My mama stood in the middle of the living room frloor and promised us all. It was a snowy day in February and she had been imprisoned with my brother, my sister, and me for days. She had had enough. I slipped my hand in hers and with pleading eyes begged, "Can I go with you?"

Mama sank to the middle of the floor, held me tight and giggled.

Several years ago, Mama went through more than the roof. She stepped through the gates of Heaven. Many times, I have wished to slip my hand in hers and visit. Someday, my Savior promises me that I will not only get to visit mama, but I will live there. He has told me that He bought me with a price, that the Holy Spirit is my promise money and that He will come back and receive me unto Him. We can be together!

Sometimes when it seems that I have been snowed in, and the things of this world are really getting to me. I slip my hands around my Bible, dig in and prepare for blast-off!

Someday, I, too, am going to go through more than the roof!
